The Chiropractic profession needs to get its act together and establish a consensus view of chiropractic and promote spinal joint care.

MEDICAL experts have called on Canberra to shut down a university chiropractic clinic aimed at children amid claims the theories behind the practice are "no better than witchcraft" and using it on children is akin to child abuse. More than half a dozen experts, many of them professors with international reputations, have written to...

I am sorry if I keep promoting Twitter to readers but I am fascinated the amount of information I get exposed to. I have considered  following only people who confirm to my prejudices in order wake up feeling really good about myself, however I try to follow a broad range of views relevant...

Any nutter can make a complaint to a regulator, its the idiots who act on vexatious complaints you have to wonder about.

For year people have been making vexatious cases against chiropractors. The five people who nominated me as a candidate for council all had vexatious complaints made against them that were dismissed. My favourite vexatious complaint was the one against Bridgit Gilmore because her cat left a few hairs on the floor. None of these...

Oh dear! The tyranny of evidence David Sackett spoke of is upon us.

A new skeptic campaign has been launched against CAM by Simon Singh, and humanists Alan Henness and Maria MacLachlan. They aim to put the “SCREWS” on alternative medicine. Unfortunately Simon was unable to attend the official launch, but they presented a very small women who had been told by a chiropractor she...

How a few motivated "Geeks" defeated an apathetic profession

Having created this mess by not consulting the profession BCA leaders will put their head in the sand hoping the problem will go away. I suspect this is just the beginning rather than the end. Reading articles like Nick Cohen’s one can only feel embarrassed calling oneself a chiropractor Now charlatans will know to...

“Straw men” lacking integrity.

One of the things that makes amuses when reading sceptic blogs is the impression they seem to have that all CAM practitioners must be delusional and the public should go to “real doctors” for treatment, because all their interventions have been subjected to rigorous scrutiny?? Before I am accused by the sceptics of...

GCC regulatory report, 656 complaints in 2009.

Two blips in the number of complaints received since 2000. In 2005 when the BCA used the GCC to mess up the UCA and made 80 complaints against the UCA executive and in  2009 when the sceptics used the GCC to go after BCA members and made 626 complaints.

How are the General Chiropractic Council and the British Chiropractic Council going to deal with Zeno’s complaints

This are the General Chiropractic Council’s answers ( in red) to my Freedom of Information request relating to their  dealings with the Sceptics complaints and the financial relationship BCA president Richard Brown has with the GCC. 1. How many of the complaints made by Alan Hennes and Simon Perry have gone before the Investigating...

Check out sceptics blogs, they are getting very emotional about the fall of their great leader.

Sceptics seem to get rather upset with anyone who criticise the pope of Scepticism the infallible professor Ezard Ernst  I have never met Edzard Ernst, however I can say with confidence he has very little understand of what goes on in my practice. Because  I do not find professor Ernst a “sweet and mild...
